Racing Career Highlights
2006
This was a good year for Tommy, as the young driver won third place at DeSoto Speedway on Saturday night, April 8th, in the Open Wheel Modified class. Two weeks later on April 22nd, he crossed the line in second place. Tommy's abilities as a race car driver continue to improve.
1999
Tommy Younkman was named "Rookie of the Year" in DeSoto Speedway's Street Stock class, finishing in the top five, 13 times. Tommy has had experience in racing at the Buck Baker School at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Orlando, St. Augustine, New Smyrna and Bradenton.
1998
In 1998, the up-and-coming driver moved into the world of stock car racing, running in the Mini-Stock class.
1996
In 1996, Tom Younkman was looking for something he and his son, Tommy could do together. He found a go-kart for sale and bought it for Tommy; thus Younkman's Motorsports was born. The young driver raced go-karts on the tracks of Jacksonville, St. Pete, Inveness, Naples, Lakeland, Sebring, Daytona, and Bradenton. From these beginnings Tommy learned that racing was definitely in his blood.
